Welcome to the VILLAGE OF MASSET
Masset, northern gateway to Naikoon Park, western Mile 0 of Highway 16 is located at the northern end of Graham Island - the largest of the more than 150 islands that comprise the Queen Charlotte Islands or Haida Gwaii as affectionately called by locals.
The Village of Masset is a small fishing village in British Columbia. Famous celebrities and people from all over the world visit to enjoy the island for its pristine beauty. Masset is also known for its hiking trails and birdwatching. World renowned Haida artists also hail from Masset and Old Massett.
Masset is one of the
three incorporated villages on the islands and has the largest population of approximately 1,000. Incorporated in 1961, the Village of Masset is the oldest and largest of the islands municipalities.
We hope you will come to visit our community and that you return time and time again because the Queen Charlotte Islands/Haida Gwaii have a distinct beauty unto themselves.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Regarding Property Tax Payments
Please note that property tax payments are due at the Village of Masset by 4:00pm Monday, July 4th, 2011 or a 10% penalty will be charged. Payments can be made at the Village of Masset office, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm. If you are concerned about getting payments in time due to the postal strike, other payment options available are:
1) Via Courier sent to Village of Masset, 1686 Main Street, Masset, BC V0T 1M0
2) Electronic Funds Transfer from your financial institution to the Northern Savings Credit Union.
Please contact us at (250) 626-3995 for our financial insitution information. If paying by electronic funds transfer please phone, email or fax us information indication your roll number, date of your transfer, the amount of the payment and the financial instition the payment in being sent from so the payment can be correctly applied to your property tax account.
